I always believed I wasn't good at looking after plants, I certainly didn't think I had 'Green Fingers'. The Banyan tree placed in my home by The Bristol Rainforest changed my relationship with plants completely. Following the simple instructions, I was given, the tree has grown magnificently.

 

More than that, it reminded me that my gran was well known for being wonderful with plants. Now I feel a real connection with her. Perhaps some of her ability lives on in me.

The Banyan tree's pot now holds a toy, a green frog which was a favourite of my mum. Metaphorically, the tree has brought me closer to both my mum and grandma.
